Meet Our Team


Dan Shepherd

Dan Shepherd is the proud founder of Shepherds Pest Control, a business that emerged with the combined forces of prayer and family backing in the fall of 2017. With a solid 12 years of experience in the pest control industry, Dan has particularly specialized in the detection and elimination of bed bugs. He is an active member of Strong Tower Baptist Church in Boones Creek, TN.



In his moments of relaxation, Dan finds pleasure in traveling and spending quality time with his three children - Luke, aged 20, Olivia, aged 18, and Noah, who is 16.

Lee Fugate

With 25 years of experience in the pest control industry, Lee Fugate is a seasoned professional. When he arrives at a customer's home, regardless of the pest problem at hand, he tackles it with expertise and determination. His goal is not only to solve the issue before he leaves but also to establish a friendly relationship and secure a loyal customer. Lee treats each home as if it were his own, ensuring that the service provided is top-notch and reliable.



Lee is happily married to his wife Penny. They have 5 children, Bradley, Darian, Emma, Mason, and Maddie. His hobbies include side by side trail riding and motorcycle riding.

Steven Skeen

Steve Skeens, who is married to Angela Skeens, has a daughter named Taylor Skeens and they currently reside in Bristol, Virginia. Steve has an impressive 33 years of experience in the pest control industry, with 14 years spent as a dedicated pest control service technician and 19 years in various management roles. Prior to joining Shepherds Pest Control, Steve held the position of District Manager at one of the leading pest control companies in the Tri Cities area.



In his free time, Steve enjoys golfing and hanging out with friends and family.

David Lane

David Lane, also known as Bubbles, has accumulated 8 years of experience in the pest control industry. His journey began at Leo's Pest Control, where he dedicated 5 years of service before transitioning to Shepherds in 2021. David is happily married to his wife, Shelly Lane, and they are proud parents to two children - their daughter, AnnaBella, who is 20, and their son, AJ, who is 13.


During his leisure time, David finds joy in attending church with his family at Agape Church. There, he not only worships but also showcases his musical talents by playing the piano, drums, guitar, and bass as needed.

Nathan Leonard

Nathan Leonard is an experienced technician in the pest control industry, with a decade of expertise under his belt. Known for his professionalism and dedication to excellence, Nathan is a perfectionist when it comes to eradicating pests from your home. He works closely with customers to efficiently address and resolve any pest-related issues they may encounter.


Outside of work, Nathan finds joy in his 31-year marriage to his wife, Denise Lane Leonard. Together, they have raised two wonderful children, Labreeska Nicole Roberts and Aaron Nathanael Leonard. Additionally, Nathan is a proud grandfather to three grandsons - Noah Chase Roberts, Ethan Blake Roberts, and Liam Avery Roberts - as well as a granddaughter named Sophia Noelle Leonard.

Spot the Signs: Recognizing Pest Infestations


Termites

  • Discarded wings near windowsills or doors.
  • Mud tubes along walls or foundations.
  • Hollow-sounding wood when tapped.
  • Frass (termite droppings) resembling small pellets.

Carpenter Bees

  • Round, smooth holes drilled into wooden structures.
  • Accumulation of sawdust beneath entry points.
  • Audible buzzing sounds near wooden eaves or decks.
  • Presence of solitary bees hovering near wooden surfaces.

Wasps

  • Presence of nests under eaves, in attics, or under decks.
  • Increased wasp activity around the property.
  • Audible buzzing sounds near potential nesting sites.
  • Spotting wasps entering and exiting gaps in structures.

Hornets

  • Large, papery nests hanging from trees or structures.
  • Audible buzzing near nesting sites.
  • Increased aggression from hornets when approached.
  • Visible hornet activity entering and exiting nests.

Bed Bugs

  • Tiny blood stains on sheets or mattresses.
  • Small, reddish-brown fecal spots on bedding or furniture.
  • Itchy bites in clusters, often on exposed skin areas.
  • Musty odor in severe infestations.

Spiders

  • Webs in corners, windowsills, or rafters.
  • Presence of egg sacs in hidden areas.
  • Increased sightings of spiders indoors.
  • Spider bites, which may cause swelling or itching.

Beetles

  • Holes or tunnels in wood, fabric, or stored food.
  • Damage to crops or stored grains.
  • Accumulation of sawdust-like frass near infested areas.

Ants

Mosquitos
